When available, recipients can access funds fast with Deposit Services. In minutes, the funds are guaranteed and available in the payee’s bank account, for a small fee with no need to print the eCheck, and no need to wait one, two, or even up to 10 days for a check to clear. 

This paperless, flexible process makes it easier for money to be moved around without needing to visit the branch and take up the time of the bank or credit union employees and its customers. 

They can print the eCheck from any printer and deposit at a bank, just like a paper check. There’s no charge, and funds are available according to the bank’s processing schedule.

Here's how to deposit an eCheck

1. Receive & retrieve

Recipients and payees receive a notification email that contains a secure link to their check. All they need to do is click the green box to retrieve it.

2. Print

First-time recipients can view a quick introduction that answers common questions about eChecks. Otherwise, they’re free to preview the check through a secure online portal. Your bank account and routing numbers are hidden until the eCheck is printed.

Print from any home or office printer, on plain white paper, at any time within 90 days of receipt. No need for recipients to ever enter their banking information, and no fees or obligations to receive their payments.

3. Deposit

After cutting along the dotted line and endorsing the back, the recipient can deposit the eCheck with their bank or credit union via ATM or using Remote Deposit Capture on a smartphone. When available, if the recipient needs access to an eCheck payment even faster, they can opt in for those funds to be deposited to their bank account in minutes by using Deposit Services that include direct deposit, deposit to a debit card, or deposit to PayPal.

The majority of transactions will be funded within 30 minutes, but it could take up to 2 business days. The funds availability timing for the initial transaction will generally be indicative of future transactions for the account you set up. A small fee will be charged to the eCheck recipient for each eDeposit. Check clearing provided by our partner bank.

Every time a payee receives an eCheck, they can choose how quickly to access their funds by either printing the eCheck and depositing at a bank or selecting the Deposit Services option for money made available in minutes. Payees can switch it up to suit their schedule, every time.

Every time a recipient uses Deposit Services, they pay a small fee that is conveniently deducted right from the transaction. There’s no subscription or set-up fee, and no obligation to use Deposit Services for future eChecks payments.

Recipients can rest easy knowing that funds from qualifying eCheck payments will be available in their account in minutes. Once those guaranteed funds are in the recipient’s account, they are theirs to keep and use.

How long does eCheck deposit take with Deposit Services?

With Instant Funds: In most instances, funds are available in minutes, but can sometimes take up to 30 minutes.

In rare cases, it could take up to 2 days.

With Direct Deposit: In most instances, funds are available the next business day. In some cases, it could take up to 3 days.

With Deposit to PayPal: In most instances, funds are available in minutes, but can sometimes take up to 30 minutes.

Do eCheck recipients have to print their eCheck to deposit it?

No. Recipents can use Deposit Services to deposit via direct deposit, deposit to a debit card, or deposit to PayPal.
